The Front Float

When learning to swim the first progression is the front float then a front glide, front glide with kick ect., but to be able to achieve the front float there are many mini step a person will to get comfortable doing to have enough confidence to take a deep breath and surrender to the embrace of the water. You can’t be stiff or scared or moving, you need to be at ease. When you are just learning, this is really scary, water is an instinctual fear so we have signals coming from our brains saying danger, danger and we have to get confident enough to bypass all those fears and just float.

Self awareness is the same. Our bodies and minds tighten up when we are scared as they enter the fight, flight or freeze mode and we need to learn skills to help our bodies relax because 99% of the time we are not in danger.

Learning how to become self aware is similar to the front float. It is just the beginning of the learning how to be self aware and most adults don’t even know how to get to this point.

The Passiter breaks down self awareness into tiny little steps, then these tiny steps are recorded so a child can communicate through pictures their new understanding, giving them the safety and security to relax in the unknown.
